Job Description:
Hogan – Hansen, P.C., a multi-office CPA firm, is hiring in their Waterloo, Iowa office. We are seeking an accountant/CPA to join our tax and audit staff. One to two years experience preferred, but will consider those with less experience who display the necessary attributes for job success.
General Job Requirements:
- Prepare complex tax returns for both businesses and individuals
- Review and analyze basic tax returns
- Remain up-to-date on tax practices and changes in tax law
- Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
- Communication with clients to help answer questions or to collect data for tax services or audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
- Must be eligible to sit for CPA exam
- Have effective communication with clients and staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required; all state certifications met
- 1+ years tax experience with both individual and business returns
- Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite knowledge
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Experience with general ledger and QuickBooks experience is preferred
- Experience with completing audit workpapers and documenting audit tests and findings
