Our Staff

Nick joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2014 and serves as a Partner with the firm. Nick supervises preparation and the review process of individual, partnership, and non-profit organization income tax returns, as well as providing estate tax planning services. He also plans and conducts audit, review and compilation engagements for local governments, non-profit organizations and commercial entities. Additionally, Nick specializes in cost segregation studies to assist clients in uncovering potential income tax benefits.

Nick graduated from Northwestern College with a B.A. in Accounting.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons. His family particularly enjoys outdoor activities including boating and fishing. Nick also enjoys cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners.

Tim joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2022 and serves as a Manager in the Ames office. He prepares and reviews complex tax returns, and is also involved in tax and business planning and consulting.

Tim graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. in Accounting, and also holds MHP and PAHM certifications. Tim volunteers with ISCPA as a member of their Career Awareness Committee, serves on the Board of Directors for Easterseals Iowa and is a member of their  Finance Committee, and volunteers in Cornerstone Church’s Children’s Ministry.

Outside of his professional and volunteer responsibilities, Tim enjoys time with his granddaughter, family vacations, golf, and training for Masters running events.

Hailey joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2019 and serves as a Manager in the Ames office. Her responsibilities include preparation of individual, partnership, and corporation tax returns, as well as conducting audits for a variety of organizations.

Hailey graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. in Accounting and B.S. in Agricultural Business.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Hailey enjoys reading, quilting, and solving jigsaw puzzles, as well as cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones.

Diane joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2016 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Ames office. Her responsibilities include payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Angela joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2016 and serves as a Senior Accountant in the Ames office. Her responsibilities include payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Angela graduated from AIB College of Business with an A.A. degree in Accounting and Business Administration. Angela volunteers with the Colo Firefighters Association as an EMT and firefighter, currently serving as Captain.

Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Angela enjoys crocheting and camping. She is married to Rodney, and they have two daughters, Katelynn and Allison.

Lisa joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2002 and serves as a Partner with the firm. As Director of Wealth Management Services, Lisa’s responsibilities include business development, client service, and relationship management, as well as overseeing its daily operations. Lisa is an Investment Advisor Representative and holds life, health, and accident insurance licenses.

Lisa graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Finance. She serves on the governing board for Cedar Valley Hospice, and is an active member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church.

April joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2023 and serves as an Administrative Services Professional in the Ames office. She supports the firm through a variety of administrative tasks, helping ensure efficient operations and providing strong client service.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, April is a mother of two daughters who enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Marcus joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2011 and serves as a Manager in the Ames office. His responsibilities include planning and conducting audit, review, and compilation engagements for local governments, non-profit organizations, and commercial entities, as well as preparation of complex individual, partnership, and corporate income tax returns.

Marcus graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with B.A. degrees in Accounting and Finance.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Marcus enjoys spending time with his dog, Maggie, and cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers

Laura joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2026 and serves as a Senior Accountant in the Ames and Ankeny offices. Her responsibilities include payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Laura graduated from DMACC with an A.S.in Accounting Paraprofessional Studies, and from Grand View College with a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Laura enjoys spending time with her three children and five grandchildren. Laura also enjoys going for long walks, sewing, and craft projects.

Kyla joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2022 and serves as a Senior Accountant in the Ames office. Her responsibilities include bookkeeping and payroll services.

Kyla graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. in Finance. She has organized and coached Randall T-ball for pre-K through 2nd grade children for more than twenty years.

Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Kyla and her husband enjoy time with their three grown sons, two grandchildren, and their cat. Kyla also enjoys paddle boarding, hiking, and relaxing at the beach.

Barb joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2025 and serves as an Administrative Services Professional in the Ames office. She supports the firm through a variety of administrative tasks, helping ensure efficient operations and providing strong client service.

Barb attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City, and is a former business owner.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Barb and her husband enjoy spending time with their four children and eight grandchildren. Barb is a Minnesota Vikings and Iowa State Cyclones fan, and also enjoys reading, photography, and her basset hound, Birdie.

Camille joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2018 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Ames office. Her responsibilities include partnership, corporation, and nonprofit tax return preparation.

Camille graduated from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with a B.S. in Accounting. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Story Theater Company, where she serves as Treasurer.

Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Camille enjoys spending time with her husband Jarad, their two children, as well as their bunny, Bandit, and keeps busy with her children’s many activities. Camille also plays volleyball, runs, attends dance classes, and has earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Traveling, attending theater productions, and playing strategy board games are also among Camille’s interests.

Dennis joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2016 after operating his own CPA firm in the Ames area for many years, and serves as a Senior Manager in the Ames office. He performs research on a variety of complex tax-related topics and prepares and reviews complex tax returns. Dennis is also involved in tax and business planning and consulting.

Paige joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2025 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Ames office. Her responsibilities include managing payroll for a number of clients.

Paige graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Business Leadership and Management, and is pursuing an MBA with concentration in Finance from Rowan University.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Paige enjoys sporting events, concerts, hiking, and spending time with her dog.

Theo joined Hogan-Hansen in 2025 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Ames office. His responsibilities include payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Theo graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Finance.

Shelby joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2023 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Ames office. She is responsible for individual, partnership, and corporation tax return preparation, and also plans and conducts audit, review and compilation engagements for local governments, non-profit organizations and commercial entities.

Shelby graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. and M.A. in Accounting.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Shelby loves art, and enjoys painting. She also enjoys walks, exercise, shopping, and traveling.

Ethan joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2025 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Ames office. He is responsible for individual, partnership and corporate tax return preparation, and also assists with audits, compilations, and review engagements.

Ethan graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. and M.A. in Accounting.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Ethan enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, and watching sports - in particular, the Philadelphia Eagles, 76ers, and Phillies. He also frequently attends Iowa State football and basketball games

Justine joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2025 and serves as an Administrative Services Professional in the Ames office. She supports the firm through a variety of administrative tasks, helping ensure efficient operations and providing strong client service.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Justine enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, reading, and time with her daughter and twin sons. She also enjoys cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones.

Dominique joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2019 and serves as the Office Director of the Ankeny office. She specializes in assisting small business owners with strategies to enhance profitability and minimize taxes, with expertise spanning manufacturing, distribution, real estate, retail, and closely held businesses.

Dominique graduated from Buena Vista University with a B.A. in Accounting. She is actively involved in her church and local community organizations, including the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Dominique enjoys spending time with her husband Roger and their dog Norah. She also enjoys gardening, board and card games, puzzles, and watching movies. She cheers for the Iowa State Cyclones and the Miami Dolphins.

Kaili joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2022 and serves as a Senior Accountant in the Ankeny office. Her responsibilities include business and individual tax preparation, as well as monthly bookkeeping.

Kaili graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. in Accounting.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Kaili enjoys family time with her husband, three daughters, two cats, and dog. She also enjoys baking and solving puzzles.

Mollie joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2021 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Ankeny office. Her responsibilities include tax return preparation, as well as payroll and bookkeeping for a variety of clients.

Craig graduated from Buena Vista University with a B.A. in Accounting, and is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Craig also serves as Treasurer for Wonderfully Made Family Camp.

Taylor joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2024 and serves as the Human Resources Manager for the firm. Her responsibilities include recruitment, personnel management, compliance, and strategic planning. Taylor works out of the Ames and Ankeny offices, with regular visits to the Cedar Rapids, Mason City, and Waterloo offices.

Taylor graduated from North Central College with a B.A. in Interactive Media Studies and earned her M.A. in Anthropology from Iowa State University.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Taylor enjoys gardening and attending concerts. She and her husband Nathan have two children, and they are avid Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa State Cyclones fans.

Whitney joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2025 and serves as an Administrative Services Professional in the Ankeny office. In her role, she assists the Human Resources Manager with a wide range of responsibilities, including internship planning, communications and marketing.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Whitney, a military spouse, enjoys spending time with her husband Isaac, and their son Taylor, along with their pets Teddy, and Thor. Whitney also enjoys outdoor activities and working on home projects.

Henry joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2022 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Ankeny office. His responsibilities include preparation of individual, partnership, corporate, and non-profit tax returns, as well as business audits.

Henry graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Accounting.

Kevin joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 1986 and serves as a Senior Manager in the Cedar Rapids office. His responsibilities include individual, partnership, and corporate tax planning and preparation, audit services, business consulting, succession planning, and wealth management services.

Kevin is a member of the Marion Kiwanis Club, the Cedar Rapids Elks Lodge, and serves on the Marion Senior Living Community Board. He previously served on the board of the School Tuition Organization for the Archdiocese of Dubuque, and is a past president of both the Cedar Valley Running Association and the Cedar Rapids Area Estate Planning Council.

Outside of his professional and volunteer responsibilities, Kevin enjoys time with his wife and three grown daughters.

David joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2019 and serves as a Senior Accountant in the Cedar Rapids office. His responsibilities include individual, partnership and corporate tax return preparation, audit, review, and compilation engagements for local governments, non-profit organizations, and commercial entities.

David graduated from Bob Jones University with a B.S. in Accounting. He serves as an after-school volunteer for Heartland Youth For Christ, and is also a Taekwondo instructor.

Outside of his professional and volunteer responsibilities, David enjoys playing guitar and ultimate Frisbee.

Evan joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2021 and serves as a Senior Accountant in the Cedar Rapids office. His responsibilities include individual, partnership and corporate, and gift tax return preparation, audit, review, compilation and agreed-upon procedure engagements for local governments, non-profit organizations, and commercial entities.

Evan graduated from Coe College with a B.A. in Public Accounting and Business Administration.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Evan enjoys kickboxing, movies, cooking, and reading. Evan cheers for the Detroit Lions, and also attends Cedar Rapids Kernels and Roughriders events.

Jennifer joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2005 and serves as a Partner with the firm. She oversees audits and tax preparation.

Jennifer graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. She volunteers at her church, and for several community organizations.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband Nick, their three children, and their Maltipoo. She also enjoys supporting her children’s activities and reading.

Brooke joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2007 and serves as a Manager in the Cedar Rapids office. Her responsibilities include planning and conducting audit, review, and compilation engagements for local governments, non-profit organizations, and commercial entities, specializing in employee benefit plans. Additionally, Brooke prepares complex individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.

He serves as board member and treasurer for Izaak Walton League of America, Friends of Linn County Conservation Board, and Izaak Walton League Conservation Endowment. He also participates in fundraising activities for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Outside of his professional and volunteer responsibilities, Craig enjoys spending time outdoors, attending concerts, and traveling abroad.

Justin joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2024 and serves as a Manager in the Cedar Rapids office.

Bryce joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2024 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Cedar Rapids office. He is responsible for individual, partnership, corporate, and non-profit tax preparation.

Bryce graduated from Coe College with a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration.

Kristy graduated from North Iowa Area Community College with an A.A. degree in Retail Management. Kristy is active in her church as well as the Franklin County Fair.

Megan joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2022 and serves as an Administrative Services Professional in the Mason City office. She supports the firm through a variety of administrative tasks, helping ensure efficient operations and providing strong client service.

Megan graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Speech Pathology. She volunteers in various school activities and served on the high school’s Band board for several years.

Veronica joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2016 and serves as a Senior Accountant in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities include payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Veronica graduated from North Iowa Area Community College and the University of Phoenix.

Linsey joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2015 and serves as a Manager in the Mason City office. She is responsible for individual, partnership, and corporation tax return preparation. In addition, she assists with payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Linsey graduated from Central College with a B.A. in Business Management, with an emphasis in Marketing, and from American Public University with a M.B.A. Linsey volunteers with Rotary International, Forest City Young Professionals, and serves on the Puckerbrush Days Committee.

Becky rejoined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2016 after previously working with the firm for eleven years. She serves as a Senior Accountant in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities include payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Chelsea joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2019 and serves as a Manager in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities include reviewing individual tax returns, preparing corporation tax returns, audits, and financial statement review.

Laura joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2016 and serves as an Administrative Services Professional in the Mason City office. She supports the firm through a variety of administrative tasks, helping ensure efficient operations and providing strong client service.

Laura graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a B.A. in Public Relations and Journalism. She supports community organizations including Youth for Christ.

Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Laura enjoys time with her husband Derek, their three children, and their dog, Badger. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and fall home decorating, as well as cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Patti joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2010 and serves as the Administrative Services Manager in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities include overseeing administrative operations and billing procedures.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Patti enjoys time with her husband John, their two married children and families, including two granddaughters. She also enjoys camping, boating, and fishing, as well as cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Karen joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2025 and serves as a Manager in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities include tax planning, preparation, and review, along with managing complex bookkeeping tasks.

Karen graduated from Buena Vista University with a B.A. in Accounting. She has served on the parish and finance councils at Epiphany Parish, the finance committee at Newman Catholic Schools, the Mason City Chamber of Commerce, as well as participating in career day presentations for North Iowa Area Community College and assisting with United Way fundraising campaigns. Currently she serves as a Eucharistic minister at Epiphany Parish.

Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Karen enjoys time with her husband Jon, and their grown son Tommy. She also enjoys golf, hiking, and traveling, as well as cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Iowa State Cyclones.

Shannon joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2010 and serves as a Manager in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities include preparation of individual and corporation tax returns, audit work, and consulting, particularly in QuickBooks and general bookkeeping.

Shannon graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Accounting. She serves as Treasurer for Stebens Children’s Theatre, the Mason City High School Choral Music Guild, and St. James Lutheran Church, where she also teaches Sunday School and volunteers with other youth activities.

Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Shannon enjoys time with her husband Todd, their daughter Mathea, and their three cats. She also enjoys reading, crafting, playing games, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and the San Francisco 49ers.

Laura joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2010 and serves as a Partner with the firm. She oversees complex individual, partnership, corporate, fiduciary, and non-profit tax returns, with a particular focus on trusts and estates. She also provides strategic tax planning.

Laura graduated from Grand View College.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Laura enjoys time with her husband Jeremy and their two children. She supports her children’s school activities, and also enjoys reading, cooking, volunteering, and staying active.

Dennis joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 1996 and serves as a Senior Manager, previously a partner in the firm for over 25 years. His responsibilities include individual, partnership and corporate tax planning and preparation, audit services, business consulting, succession planning and wealth management.

Dennis graduated from Northwestern College with a B.A. in Accounting. He serves on the Board of Directors for OneVision and Northwoods Savings Bank, and is also actively involved in Grace Church.

Outside of his professional and volunteer responsibilities, Dennis enjoys time with his wife Susan, their three daughters and their families, including six grandchildren. He also enjoys traveling and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Twins, and Iowa Hawkeyes.

Marjean joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2024 and serves as a Senior Accountant in the Mason City office. She is responsible for individual, partnership, and corporation tax return preparation.

Marjean graduated from Buena Vista University. She volunteers at her church and at her children’s school.

Jenni graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.A. in Psychology. She serves as an officer in her P.E.O. chapter, and volunteers at her church.

Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Jenni enjoys time with her husband Jon, and their four children and their families, including one granddaughter. She also enjoys reading, cooking, walking, playing clarinet in several community bands, and traveling.

Conner joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2026 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Mason City office. He is responsible for individual, partnership, and corporation tax return preparation.

Conner graduated from Wartburg College with a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration. He serves as a youth group and small group leader at Crosspoint Church in Waverly.

Outside of his professional and volunteer responsibilities, Conner enjoys running and is the new Assistant Cross Country coach at Clear Lake High School.

Farisa joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2024 and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities include payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Farisa graduated from North Iowa Area Community College with an A.S. in Business and Accounting. She serves with Meals on Wheels as a volunteer.

Jason graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Accounting. He serves as a volunteer at Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank.

Kristen graduated from Kaplan University with an A.A. in Accounting. Kristen volunteers with Rotary International, serves as Treasurer for the Mason City Schools Instrumental Music Boosters, and also serves on the St. Paul Lutheran Church Council.

Haley graduated from Northwestern College with a B.A. in Accounting and a B.S. in Biology-Health Professions.

She serves as Treasurer for the Clear Lake Kiwanis Club, and as council member and Treasurer for First Congregational Church of Clear Lake.

Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Kristi enjoys spending time with her husband Joe, their two children, and their dog, Daisy. She also enjoys supporting her children’s activities, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Lynx, Iowa Hawkeye basketball, UConn women’s basketball, and the Clear Lake Lions.

Marlene joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2015 after operating her own CPA firm in Forest City for many years. She serves as a Senior Manager in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities include preparation and review of individual and corporation income tax returns, with a particular focus on farmers.

Marlene graduated from North Iowa Area Community College with an A.A. degree, and also attended Buena Vista College.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Marlene enjoys spending time with her husband, their two sons, daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren. She also enjoys camping, boating, and playing pickleball, as well as cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and the Dallas Cowboys.

Carrie graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Communications and minor in Leadership Studies. She volunteers regularly at church and community events, and has led youth groups for more than fifteen years.

Sue joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 1982 and serves as the Administrative Services Manager and Network Administrator for the firm. Her responsibilities include overseeing the firm’s operations and technology infrastructure.

Steve graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Accounting. He serves as a board member for several local non-profit organizations, and is active in St. Edward’s Church.

Eric joined Hogan-Hansen in 2012 and serves as a Partner with the firm. Eric graduated from Coe College. He also serves with Junior Achievement.

Outside of his professional and volunteer responsibilities, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife Tori, their two sons, and their dog; in particular, supporting the boys’ sporting activities and enjoying summers at Lake Delhi. Eric also cheers for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and NFL football.

Diane joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2003 and serves as the Corporate Controller for the firm. Her responsibilities include oversight of all internal accounting functions, including payroll and financial statement preparation.
