Our Staff

Kristy joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2024 and serves as a Staff Accountant. She plays a key role in the firm’s monthly services, including payroll, tax reporting, bookkeeping and financial statement preparation.

She holds a degree in Retail Management from North Iowa Community College and has built a reputation for providing accurate, efficient and client-focused accounting solutions.

Outside of work, Kristy enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. Actively involved in her church and the Franklin County Fair, she also supports the Iowa State Cyclones and values quality time with her family. Kristy is committed to delivering exceptional service while fostering strong, long-term client relationships.

Megan joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2022 and serves as an Administrative Services Professional in the Mason City office. She supports our firm with many administrative functions and is responsible for providing excellent service to our clients.

Megan graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree and has her substitute teacher license. 

She is Married to Ken, and Mom to four children, two boys and two girls. Megan and her family have two cats that they enjoy having in the house. When not working, Megan enjoys lettering, mostly modern calligraphy and making cards. Her favorite past-time involves family vacations heading west to the mountains. 

Megan gives back to her community by volunteering for school activities and she is was on the Band Board from 2019-2021.

Veronica joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2016 and serves as a Senior Accountant. She provides comprehensive monthly services, including payroll and bookkeeping, ensuring accuracy and efficiency for her clients.

Veronica holds degrees from North Iowa Area Community College and the University of Phoenix, bringing a strong educational foundation to her accounting practice.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her son, Brody. She is an avid reader, enjoys hiking, and cheers passionately for the Green Bay Packers and Iowa State Cyclones. Known for her positivity and dedication, Veronica embodies the values of Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in both her professional and personal life.

Linsey joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2015 and is Tax Manager for the Mason City office. She is responsible for individual, partnership and corporate tax return preparation. In addition, she assists with payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Linsey is a graduate of Central College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management, with an emphasis in Marketing. She also has her Master of Business Administration degree (Accounting concentration) from American Public University.

In her free time, Linsey volunteers for Rotary International, Forest City Young Professionals and is on the Puckerbrush Days Committee.

Becky rejoined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2016 after previously working with the firm for 11 years. She is a Senior Accountant in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities include payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients. She also helps provide our staff with computer support.

Chelsea joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2019 and is a Tax Manager. She focuses on reviewing individual tax returns, preparing business tax returns, serving as in-charge on audits and reviewing monthly financial statements.

A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. Throughout her career, she has built extensive experience in tax preparation, audit services and financial reporting. Known for her accuracy, professionalism and client-centered approach, Chelsea is committed to delivering high-quality service.

Outside the office, Chelsea is a proud supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes. She is dedicated to living out the firm’s values by providing reliable guidance and building lasting client relationships that help individuals and businesses succeed.

Devan joined Hogan-Hansen, P.C. in 2021 and is a Staff Accountant. She specializes in processing payroll and compiling financial statements, thriving on the variety and challenges each day brings.

An alumna of Hamilton Business College, Devan earned her Associate’s degree in Accounting.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, traveling and participating in outdoor activities with her family. Known for her compassionate and dedicated nature, Devan brings the same care and commitment to her professional work as she does to her personal life.

Laura joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2016 and serves as an Administrative Assistant. She provides valuable support to both staff and clients, excelling in managing a wide range of responsibilities that keep the office running smoothly.

She is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, where she earned her degree in Public Relations and Journalism.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys time with her husband, Derek, their three children, and their dog, Badger. She loves reading, cooking and fall home decorating, and actively supports community organizations such as Youth for Christ. A devoted Green Bay Packers fan, she takes pride in fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment at Hogan - Hansen, P.C.

Patti joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2010 and serves as the Administrative Services Manager in the Mason City office. She oversees administrative operations and billing procedures, ensuring efficiency and accuracy while supporting both clients and colleagues. With a strong focus on organization and attention to detail, Patti plays a key role in maintaining seamless day-to-day office operations.

A graduate of Hamilton Business College, Patti brings extensive experience and a reliable, team-oriented approach to her work.

Outside the office, she enjoys camping, boating, and fishing, as well as cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Patti and her husband, John, have two children—Amber (married to Cory) and Dylan (married to Carsen)—and are proud grandparents to their granddaughters.

Karen Kiss is an experienced Tax Manager who joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2025, specializing in tax planning, preparation and review, along with managing complex bookkeeping tasks.

Karen holds a BA in Accounting from Buena Vista University and has a rich history of community involvement. She has served on various boards and committees, such as the parish and finance councils at Epiphany Parish and the finance committee at Newman Catholic Schools. Additionally, Karen has been active in the Mason City Chamber of Commerce and volunteered for the North Iowa Area Community College career day presentations and United Way fundraising campaigns. Currently, she continues her community service as a Eucharistic minister at Epiphany Parish.

Outside of work, Karen and her husband, Jon, reside in Mason City and share a passion for golf, hiking and traveling. As avid football fans, they support the Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones. Karen has also developed a keen interest in the WNBA, particularly enjoying watching Caitlin Clark play. Their family includes their son, Tommy, who lives in Minnesota.

Shannon joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2010, specializing in preparation of individual and business tax returns, audit work, and consulting—particularly in QuickBooks and general bookkeeping. She enjoys building strong client relationships and providing practical, personalized support.

A graduate from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, she has extensive knowledge in all accounting matters to best serve her clients.

Shannon shares her life with her husband Todd, daughter Mathea, and their three cats—Wendy, Barbie and Princess Cupcake. She enjoys reading, crafting with Mathea, playing games with family and friends and cheering on Iowa State and the San Francisco 49ers. Shannon is also active in her community, serving as Treasurer for Stebens Children’s Theatre, the Choral Music Guild and her church. She also enjoys volunteering at St. James Lutheran Church with Sunday School and other youth activities.

Laura joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2010 and is a Partner with the firm, managing key client relationships across diverse industries. She oversees complex tax engagements, including individual, partnership, corporate, fiduciary and nonprofit returns, with a particular focus on trusts and estates. Laura provides strategic tax planning and guidance, helping clients make informed financial decisions.

A graduate of Grand View College, she brings extensive expertise and leadership to both clients and colleagues, ensuring the highest standards of service.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys time with her husband, Jeremy, and their two children, supporting their activities in school, sports and taekwondo. She also enjoys reading, cooking, volunteering and staying active.

Dennis joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 1996 and was a partner in the firm for over 25 years. He currently is a manager in our Mason City office. Dennis manages client relationships, working with a variety of clients and industries. He is experienced in individual, partnership and corporate tax planning and preparation, business consulting, succession planning and wealth management services. 

Dennis graduated from Northwestern College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. Dennis is as a member of the Board of Directors of OneVision and Northwoods Savings Bank. He is also actively involved with his church. Dennis and his wife, Susan, have three daughters – Corrine, Emily and Haley, and six grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Twins and Iowa Hawkeyes.

Marjean joined the Mason City office of Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2024.  She's a graduate of Buena Vista University.  Marjean is married and has three children.  She enjoys cheering her children on in their activities and is a vounteer at their schools and church.

Lori joined the Hogan - Hansen, P.C. Mason City office in 2025, specializing in monthly service tasks such as payroll, sales tax and financial statement preparation. She brings a keen eye to the review of payroll and sales tax reports and excels in the preparation of tax returns.

Lori holds an Associate’s degree from the American Institute of Business and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Buena Vista University.

Outside of work, Lori enjoys spending her time gardening, sewing and embracing the great outdoors during the beautiful summer and fall seasons.

Jenni joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2022 and serves as an Administrative Services Professional. In her role, she supports professional staff by processing tax returns and managing a variety of administrative projects, contributing to the firm’s efficiency and client service.

A graduate of Seattle Pacific University, Jenni is recognized for her strong organizational skills, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. She plays a key role in streamlining processes, assisting team members and ensuring projects are completed with professionalism and care.

Outside of work, Jenni enjoys cooking, reading and traveling. Married for 30 years to her husband, Jon, she is the proud mother of four grown children, and grandma to one granddaughter. She is actively involved with P.E.O. and her church community, and values opportunities to connect, serve and give back.

Farisa joined our Hogan - Hansen, P.C. Mason City office in 2024.  She is responsible for payroll services, tax reporting, financial statements and bookkeeping. 

Farisa attended North Iowa Area Community College and earned her degree in Science Business and Accounting.  

Outside the office, Farisa volunteers with Meals on Wheels. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two daughters, biking and traveling.

Jason joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2010 and is a Tax Manager in the Mason City office. He performs research on a complex tax-related topics and is responsible for preparation and review of individual, partnership and corporate income tax returns. Jason also plans and conducts audit, review and compilation engagements for nonprofit organizations and commercial entities, specializing in employee benefit plans.

Jason is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He enjoys cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. Jason volunteers at the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank.

Kristen joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2019 and serves as a Senior Accountant in the Mason City office. Her responsibilities also include payroll services, payroll tax reporting, financial statement preparation and bookkeeping services for a variety of clients.

Kristen received an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Kaplan University. Kristen volunteers for St. Paul Lutheran Church Council and Jefferson Elementary School's PTO. 

In her free time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. 

Quentin started working at Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2020 as a staff accountant in our Mason City office. He works on a variety of tax return preparation.

Quentin has his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Simpson College and Masters of Financial Management from Drake University. 

Outside of work, Quentin enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and their dog. He enjoys cheering for the San Francisco 49ers and watching Formula 1 Racing. 

Ghandy joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2022 and serves as a Staff Accountant. She works on the monthly service team, handling payroll processing, payroll tax returns, sales tax and bookkeeping, including financial statement preparation. She is also responsible for individual, partnership and corporate tax return preparation.

A graduate of Western Iowa Tech Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting, Ghandy is dedicated to delivering excellent client service and staying engaged with her community.

Outside of work, she enjoys photography, playing video games and kicking around the soccer ball with her kids. Ghandy lives with her husband, their three amazing children and their adorable cat, Mittens.

Haley joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2023 and serves as a Tax Manager. As a licensed CPA she specializes in a wide range of tax engagements, including trusts, estates, businesses and individual returns. She is also experienced in compilations, assurance engagements and employee benefit plan audits.

A graduate of Northwestern College, Haley earned degrees in Accounting and Biology Health Professions. She approaches her work with professionalism, kindness and a strong client-focused mindset.

Outside the office, Haley enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, their daughters and their pets. She also loves being outdoors and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx.

Jill joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2015 and is a dedicated professional specializing in payroll, bookkeeping and e-filing.

She holds an Associate’s degree from Kirkwood Community College, which has equipped her with a solid foundation in financial practices.

Beyond her professional life, Jill is a devoted mother of three and a proud dog owner. Her hobbies include reading, walking, golfing and cherishing moments with family and friends. Jill's kindness and positive attitude not only enhance her personal relationships but also exemplify the core values of the company, making her a valued member of the team.

Kristi joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2006 and is a Partner with the firm, playing a key role in the firm’s audit and accounting practice while also providing tax services for individuals and businesses. She values the variety her work offers and takes pride in supporting clients across multiple areas of their financial needs.

Kristi graduated with B.A. degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from Northwestern College and a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from the University of South Dakota.

She brings strong leadership and expertise to both clients and colleagues, serving as a trusted resource while maintaining high standards of service.

Outside of work, Kristi enjoys time with her husband, Joe, their two children, and their dog, Daisy. She stays active supporting her kids’ activities and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Lynx, Iowa Hawkeye basketball, UConn women’s basketball, and the Clear Lake Lions. Kristi is also dedicated to community involvement, serving as Treasurer for the Clear Lake Kiwanis Club and the First Congregational Church of Clear Lake, where she is also a council member.

Marlene joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2015 after successfully operating her own CPA firm in Forest City for many years. She specializes in preparing and reviewing tax returns, with a particular focus on serving farmers, and is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of each client.

She earned her Associate of Arts degree from North Iowa Area Community College and later attended Buena Vista College.

Outside of work, Marlene enjoys spending time with her husband, their two sons, daughter-in-law and four grandchildren. She is an avid Iowa State and Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoys camping, boating and playing pickleball. Marlene’s client-focused approach and years of experience allow her to consistently deliver the best possible outcomes.

Carrie Joined Hogan - Hansen, P.C. in 2019 and serves as an HR & Marketing Administrative Assistant, supporting both clients and internal teams with a variety of administrative tasks. She assists clients with inquiries, organizes local and companywide events, and helps ensure smooth day-to-day operations.Carrie enjoys the variety in her role and the opportunity to make a positive impact through service and organization.

A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Carrie holds a B.A. in Communications with a minor in Leadership Studies. She is passionate about encouraging others and helping both clients and colleagues achieve their goals.

Carrie has been married to her husband Bill for 25 years, and together they have three daughters and two dogs. She volunteers regularly at church and community events and has led youth groups for over 15 years. Outside of work, Carrie enjoys beekeeping, home improvement projects and spending time outdoors.
