  • Work closely with client executives, even at an early stage in your career
  • Are involved in several types of jobs, i.e., reviews, compilations, audits, tax, etc.
  • Can quickly see the overall picture by working on several different areas of an engagement
  • Gain responsibility and accumulate experience rapidly
  • Are not "lost in the shuffle" and can get to know all principals and co-workers in a short time

benefits

Hogan - Hansen offers a complete benefits package which includes a 401(k) plan and health, disability and life insurance benefits. Employees receive two weeks of vacation immediately, three weeks after five years of service and four weeks after ten years.

overtime

Unfortunately, extended hours during tax season is the nature of the public accounting business. Hogan - Hansen, however, believes in a healthy life balance and overtime is largely limited to that three-month period from mid-January to mid-April. During tax season, most professionals work only 54 hours a week and all overtime is compensated at time and one-half.

travel

Virtually all of our clients are located in the cities in which we have offices, resulting in little or no travel. However, with many jobs being outside the office, employees do not feel "chained to their desks" as they are able to work in many different business environments.

bonus programs

We encourage our employees to develop new business and we reward them. Simply setting up an appointment for one of our principals to visit with a prospective client generally results in a $100 bonus. If the firm is successful in obtaining the new work, 20% of the first year's fees are paid to the employee who arranged for the initial meeting.
